Executive

Elections Committee

Chair: B. Kyle  |  Meetings: Monday, 4:00 p.m.

The Elections Committee is the body charged with facilitating the Associated Students elections. They put great emphasis on remaining impartial and running elections that are inclusive and fair. President, Vice president and Senate Elections occur once annually in the spring.

 

Environmental Affairs

Chair:T. Zaich  |  Meeting: Thursday, 3:30 p.m.

Our aim is to discuss pressing environmental issues at CSUN, institute change and spread awareness. We welcome all CSUN students, faculty and staff to join us in a movement to create a sustainable CSUN campus. We have patterned with the CSUN Institute of Sustainability and look forward to planning many exciting events and engaging in action projects.

 

Finance Committee

Chair: K. Lee  |  Meeting: Mondays at 1:00 p.m.

The Finance Committee makes recommendations to the Associated Students Senate concerning funding requests from student organizations and from Associated Students departments. The committee also prepares the Associated Students Annual Budget.

 

Judicial Court

Chair: L. Canton  |  Meeting: Fridays at 2:00 p.m.

The Judicial Court acts as the Associated Students’ Judiciary. They review the constitutions for student organizations looking to become chartered and also make interpretations of the A.S. Constitution and other policies when necessary.

 

A.S. Productions

Chair: E. Planas  | Meeting:  Tuesdays at 8:00 a.m.

A.S. Productions is the programming board of the Associated Students. They plan and implement events for students ranging from musical to comedy and lectures. They are also in charge of planning and running The Big Show, CSUN’s annual major headliner concert.

Academic Affairs

Chair: M. Al-Marayati  |  Meeting: Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m.

Academic Affairs Committee discusses issues concerning academics and issues relating to the Academic Senate (CSUN’s Faculty Government.

 

External Affairs

Chair: Sarah Garcia  |  Meeting: Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

External Affairs Committee discusses issues concerning students relating to entities outside the University. Examples include the California State Student Association, the Northridge East Neighborhood Council, the City of Los Angeles and the California State Legislature.

 

Internal Affairs

Chair: Jesus Martinez-Ramirez  |  Meetings: Fridays at 12:00 p.m.

Internal Affairs Committee discusses issues concerning the Programs and Services provided by the Associated Students. They perform regular evaluations of the programs and make recommendations for improvement. They also review any proposed new program ideas.

 

University Affairs

Chair: Adan Garay  |  Meetings: Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m.

The University Affairs Committee discusses issues relating to the campus specifically with regards to the Policies and Practices of the University Administration. This includes both the CSUN Administration and the Office of the CSU Chancellor.

 

Policies

Chair: S Baustista  |  Meetings: Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m.

The Policies Committee reviews the Codes, Policies and Procedures of the Associated Students and make recommendations for Policy and Code changes. They also develop new codes and recommend the removal of obsolete codes.
