Bottle & Can Recycling

A.S. Recycling currently services 60 external locations. You can recycle aluminum cans, glass bottles and jars, and #1 and #2 plastic bottles. Labels and caps are fine–please empty all contents before depositing in bins!

Bottle & Can Recycling Guidelines:

Aluminum Cans: no foil, paint or aerosol cans

Glass Containers: no dishes, ceramic mugs, chemical bottles

Plastic Bottles #1 & #2 bottles: no plastic bags, hangers, food containers

Our Story

The recycling program at CSUN was established in 1991 as a collaborative effort between Associated Students and the University to divert recyclable materials from the University’s waste stream and to promote the benefits of recycling. Today, A.S. Recycling continues to support the campus community by collecting paper, cardboard, pallets, laser toner and ink jet cartridges, cell phones, tin cans, and beverage containers. In all, over 200 locations are served throughout the campus.
